First off not being a real fantasy fan I was very cautious about reading this book especially from an author I had not heard of before. But this is a truly great book. You are placed in the action from the jump and it doesn't end. There is no down time in this book as it keeps the pace going from beginning to end. It was well placed together to allow for the story to grow and for the characters to grow as well. It is not all action packed, but there is more than enough to satisfy the need. The visual descriptions make it impossible for you not to see what is happening as you follow along. Plus the addition of races I have never before heard off was a credit to the authors imagination. I can't say that I will ever be a Fantasy buff, but if this is just the start to the series I will definently be waiting for the future of this to unfold. Those I know that love this type of stuff have been hooked as well. I would definently suggest this for anyone who is a fantasy fan, or anyone who is looking for a good story.
